25/6/2009 - Official re-opening of Tytherington Post Office - Monday 29th June 2009 - 9.15 am.
Councillor and Prospective Conservative MP, Matthew Riddle refused to take the Government's decision lying down and has been working with officers from South Gloucestershire Council ever since on a funding package to reopen the post office.
The post office is now able to reopen because of an initial 3 year funding package, which includes a sizeable contribution from South Gloucesteshire Council, significant support from the local parish, with the remaining funds coming from other local organisations.
Monday's reopening marks the beginning of an exciting journey to help build Tytherington's post office and village shop into a self-financing and sustainable community enterprise and we hope that many local residents will join Matthew at this special opening. 24/3/2009 - Councillor and Prospective Conservative MP, Matthew Riddle urges residents to ride the X27 bus - see main article
